In the infant room during pick up and drop off times staff will greet parents and communicate about your child’s day. There will be written record of feeding, diapering and naps for parents to taken home. Parents can inform staff about child’s feeding routine to meet individual needs. Diapering is done every two hours, unless needed. 

Staff in the infant room use a wide range of words by talking and communicating with the infants. Staff take part in verbal play, such as rhyming. Staff talk to infants about different topics, such as animals. 

Happy Time practices safe sleep. Child is laid down on their back in a crib without blankets, appropriate size sleep sacks are available for each infant. Happy Time offers parents the option of using an Owlet Sock Monitor during sleep times. 

In our infant room the staff members have cleaning routines done daily to prevent the spread of germs. This includes disinfecting toys, sweeping, mopping and vacuuming floors. Washing bottles after each use with appropriate free and clear Bottle Soap. Our infant room requires that shoes are left at the door to prevent dirt and germs on the floor where infants play. 

 

Yellow B Room

                                                     

 

Yellow B (1 year –  2 years)

In the toddler room there is a book area where staff and children can read together in a comfortable area. Toys are rotated to provide variety to children. Musical toys and instruments are provided for free play. A block center is present in the classroom for STEM activities. Staff go outside with toddlers daily to stimulate a variety of large motor skills. Happy Time understands that sensory play is important for child development, a sensory table is accessible for children. 

Red and Green Room

                                                           

Red and Green Room: Age 3 years

In the Green and Red Room students have a wide range of activities presented throughout the day. They follow a structured scheduled when going about these activities. Fine motor is important for child development, in the Green and Red Room fine motor activities are offered daily. An art activity related to the classroom week theme, but also free art is initiated. A group music activity is offered daily with the instruments in the classroom. Red and Green Room both have a block center, where children participate in STEM activity. A dramatic play center is offered, this includes many different costumes and dress up clothes for children. 

STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) is very important at Happy Time. Staff initiate activities for measuring, comparing or sorting using nature/science materials. Red and Green Room have plants present in the room, in which the children are responsible for caring for with the assistance from a teacher. Staff help children connect printed numbers or shape in the use of everyday environment. Appropriate use of technology is important at Happy Time. Red and Green Room have an IPad for learning and movement activities. 

Blue Room

                                                                         

 

Blue Room (Ages 4 – 5)

At Happy Time, we believe it is important to prepare children for school, in which we partake in many educational activities. 

In the Blue Room students have a wide range of activities presented throughout the day. They follow a structured schedule when going about these activities. Fine motor is important for child development, in Blue Room fine motor activities are offered daily. An art activity related to the classroom week theme, but also free art is initiated. A group music activity is offered daily with the instruments in the classroom.Blue Room both have a block center, where children participate in STEM activity. Tilford Before & After School

                                                                       

Tilford Before and After School

 

During the school year, the before and after school program offers morning and afternoon care starting at 6 am and ending at 6 pm. During this time, snack is offered. During the summer Happy Time offers a summer program, with that breakfast, lunch and snack is offered to all that attend. 

During summer time, we plan fun trips and learning activities for the children. As we understand that summer is a fun and exciting time for each student and we would like to make it the best it can be. During field trips transportation by school bus is offered. 

We understand that even outside of school, learning social and educational skills are still important. As we encourage children to follow their passions by giving them the space and materials that they need. Staff at Happy Time follow the Social Thinking Curriculum. We also initiate STEM activities with building blocks, wind tunnels and light tables. 

 

Purple Room

Purple (2 years)

In our 2 year old room we take action by helping parents with toilet training. Positive reinforcement is important at Happy Time, and initiate positive reinforcement to encourage children to use the restroom.

Age 2 is the prime age for learning vocabulary; Staff use a wide rage of words to specify what they are talking about. Staff introduce new themes or topics of interest to provide wide range of new words. Staff ask many questions to encourage children to use language. Staff initiate conversation throughout the day, even during gross motor and fine motor play.

Appropriate books are present in the 2 year old room to help with expanding knowledge. Staff interact and read these books with the children daily. Children are encouraged to read the books independently. 

Art is an important part of your child’s day at Happy Time. In our Purple Room, free art is encouraged. Gross motor play is offered to children when going outside. Fine motor and sensory play is also very important to use at Happy Time.
